Jacob Templeton, LCSW, Public Safety Therapist

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Hi, I’m Jacob Templeton, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience in mental health, including over 9 years in direct counseling. I specialize in working with first responders. I have spent the last few years providing individual counseling to police officers, fire fighters, EMS employees, probation officers, detention officers, 911 dispatchers, military personnel, various administrative employees and family members of first responders. During that time, I would spend hours every week as an embedded clinician within
the Phoenix and Chandler Police Departments. In addition to that, I spent nearly one year as a crisis counselor riding along on 911 calls with the Mesa Fire Department. I currently offer telehealth therapy to clients in Arizona, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, anger management, chronic stress, burnout and relationship challenges. My approach is straightforward and practical. We focus on what’s actually going to help—healing trauma, building effective tools to deal with life’s issues, and improving day-to-day functioning. Therapy isn’t just about talking; it’s about making real changes. Think of it like personal training—you are shown the exercises, and the reps you put in between sessions drives results. If you’re interested in getting started with counseling, feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule an appointment.
